In 1931 Thomas Smith, a Professor of Pharmacy and a retail pharmacist in Dublin developed a unique cream from the back of his humble shop. The healing cream was excellent at treating nappy rash. It was in the 1940s that new manufacturing premises was obtained due to the high demand for the cream by new mothers. It was officially named Sudocrem in 1950.

It was not long before Sudocrem was introduced to other countries including, Northern Ireland, Northwest England and in Great Britain in the 1980s, quickly establishing itself as the market leader for nappy rash cream in the UK and Ireland.

In 2000, Sudocrem was launched in Australia, and 20 years on we are proud to be the *number 1 nappy rash cream in Australia. Only 3 years later in 2003 it was launched in New Zealand.

Sudocrem celebrates over 80 years of skincare. Sudocrem products are now available in over 40 countries worldwide. Still manufactured in Dublin.
